New England Juniors Registration Process Summary

NERVA is continuing the use of USAVolleyball’s online registration system. Junior athletes MUST be registered prior to attending any tryout, practice or sanctioned event. In order to accomplish this, junior members will be asked to register well in advance of their first event.

Here is a summary of the registration process:

• Member information that is required includes name, date of birth, address, email address, current grade, gender and race/ethnicity (you may choose the option to not answer). Optional information would be phone numbers. They are not required, but we highly recommend including them.

• Upon confirming data, the member will first see an option to choose a club. Athletes should choose the appropriate club prior to tryouts if you are attending only one club tryout. If you are only trying out for 1 club you do not need to print the waiver registration form

• Athletes should choose "Undecided" prior to tryouts if you are attending Multiple Club tryouts. After accepting an offer with a club, players will log back in and change “Undecided” to the appropriate club. You will need to print the waiver form and bring it with you to the tryout as proof of registration.

• Members will select "regular membership - junior" as a membership type. Parent information must be provided on this page in order to move forward in the process.

• The next step will ask for confirmation of the registrant's information. You can choose which communications you'd like to receive. Parents MUST click on, open and read the waiver and liability and code of conduct prior to placing a checkmark for these items. PRINT these forms and BRING them with you to your tryout if you are attending MULTIPLE club tryouts.

New England Juniors Coach Registration Process Summary

Those adults (either adult players who coach or those whose only role in the region is with a junior club), will use the USA Volleyball registration system to establish membership again this year.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Adults will be asked to choose a club. If you know which junior club you will be working with, you may choose that club. If you do not know which club you will be working with or you do not see your club in the list, select "Undecided." You can go back in later and change it.

If you are also an adult player, you must select the junior club you are affiliated with (opposed to your adult club/team).

If you play, you will still need to select your level of play.

Once you indicate your role will be with a junior club, you will be prompted to complete a background screen. If the screen does not pop up, you were cleared from last year and do not need a new one. If you do get the page asking for information, please fill out that information. The information is the same as the printed form we have used in the past. You'll need to answer a couple questions and enter your social security number. Once you finish, your data will be automatically sent to the background vendor.

Coaches, Team/Club Rep., Chaperone, you you NO LONGER need to print and Sign the Waiver & Release of Liability and Background Screening Form. These forms now accept electronic signature.

Troubleshooting

Q. I was a member last year, but this year the system is telling me that my birthdate doesn't match.
A. Some birthdates didn't import correctly into the USAV system. Email your club director with your correct birthdate and they can have it changed.

Q. My address/phone number/etc. is incorrect in the online system.
A. You can change it yourself, some information was imported incorrectly.

Q. I'm trying out for a club (or more than one) and they are telling me that they can't find me in the USAV online system but I've already signed up.
A. If you signed up with your club as "undecided" or accidently picked the wrong club, just bring a copy of the waiver form along with your medical form to the tryout. Once your club is set, the region will be able to change it in the online system.

Q. I'm getting an "Address not Verified - Multiple Matches" error.
A. Try going to www.usps.com and click on "find a zip code". Enter your address and then copy the results exactly as you see it into the USAV registration page.

Q. My user name and password are difficult to remember and I want to change it.
A. Click on “Change login information”. You can then change you user name and password.

Any other questions, please contact your club director.
